SPAY...? NEUTER...?
Don't do it.
For decades people have been spaying and neutering their pets...giving the issue little or no thought. They claim that they do it because it is "convenient"...it "makes their lives simpler"...and it "helps control the pet population." But what about the lives of the pets? Pets have feelings too. But, as usual, they have no say in the matter at all.
REPRODUCTION IS CENTRAL TO ALL LIVING THINGS
In the same way that it is with human beings, God put animals on the earth to reproduce. Just as they must breathe and eat in order to live, so must they procreate. Until now there has been little or no regard for the animal's psychological well being...and the irreversible psychological damage that spaying / neutering can cause. Let's turn the tables and see how you would feel if it were you.
Suppose you were about to enter high school when your mother and father suddenly took you to a doctor to have your ovaries or testicles removed. How do you think this would have made you feel? Would it have made your life better...or worse? Think about how you would feel when you look in the mirror each morning, only to realize that you were no longer a sexual being. How about when you got older and decided that you wanted to have children. Without ovaries or testicles there would be no way for you and your spouse to bear offspring.
DEVASTATING PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS
It is only in recent years that the devastating psychological effects of spaying /neutering have come to light. Recent studies reveal that animals whose genitals have been removed are more anxious, unstable, and aggressive. A random study of more than five thousand cats and dogs in Canada revealed that a spayed / neutered animal was ten times more likely to (a) die at a younger age, (b) have a fifty percent higher risk for heart attack and/or stroke, and (c) suffer from a wide range of other physiological problems including blindness, disorientation, and autism.
GENITAL MUTILATION OF OUR PETS MUST STOP
Genital mutilation of our pets MUST STOP. It is immoral...inhumane...and shameful. Those who argue in favor of spaying / neutering claim there are too many unwanted pets in the world. This is rubbish. You can rest assured that there will never ever be too many cats and dogs in the world. As we all know, everyone loves cats and dogs...so how could there ever be too many of them? Besides, all it takes is a little effort to find homes for your pet's offspring. It may take a little time and energy but there is no doubt that you can and will find loving people to adopt your kittens and/or puppies.
INSTEAD OF DOING THE EASY THING...
DO THE RIGHT THING.Dropping your pet off to have its sexuality erased is easy and inexpensive...but it is also the WRONG CHOICE. The effects of your decision are serious and irreversible. If you truly care about your pet consider its feelings and leave it be...and allow it to be the creature God intended it to be.
